Miss Cora retires after 25 years, will be missed
GREENVILLE – “I will miss the patients,” said Cora Winston. She will be
retiring from Wayne HealthCare after 25 years of service to the
hospital. She smiled, then continued quietly… “I love the people who
come in here as patients.” She recalled once at a grocery store… “This
couple walked up to me and said, Cora, do you remember me? “That’s what
makes it nice,” she said. She added she’s enjoyed working at Wayne
HealthCare. “The people here are nice.” She remembered when she first
started, said it was hard... Read

CELEBRATING JUL 02 1776
Raising a glass of tea
By Susan Olling
Most Americans seem to have taken John Adams’s recommendations for
celebrating what he called the “day of deliverance” (02 Jul 1776
actually, but that’s another topic) to heart. While Independence
Day is an important holiday, there are other dates during the period of

Revolution. Also... Read

scroll backwards another 250+ years or so. Ships were not built as well
as the Titanic - luxury wise or even "smooth-sailing" wise. Oceanus
Hopkins was born aboard... Read

AMERICAN POLICIES
Inspiring!
By Kate Burch
In recent times Americans have been roiled, it seems to me, by
increasing alienation, unhappiness, anger, and unrest. By my
lights, the president who promised to bring us together has only
increased racial tension and animosity. Policies touted as
benefiting all have damaged the polity, diluted liberty, and caused
loss of opportunity and economic... Read

The end of June means that the year is at its halfway point. It is hard
to conceive that 2015 is on the downhill slide to 2016 already! The
good news is we have had more than ample rain for our farmers, the corn
looks really good, some bean fields have... Read
