Arts Festival deemed “a good hit”
UNION CITY, IN – “It was a good hit,” said Union City, Ind., Mayor
Bryan Conklin. “We had well over 2,000 plus people there.” He
acknowledged being “exhausted” as the 2nd Annual Union City Arts
Festival had just wrapped up Sept. 12. Friday night was slow due to the
rain, but even then, Conklin said there were 300 to 400 people in the
downtown area. The finale of the weekend was the performance by Union
City native Rick Derringer of “Hang On Sloopy” fame. “That one’s hard
