The Third Grade Reading Guarantee
The Third Grade Reading Guarantee (TGRG) was developed in 2013 and is
used as a method to identify students in grades kindergarten through
third grade that are behind in reading. Third grade students will
initially take the Ohio’s Grade 3 English Language Arts test later this

the requirements of the Third Grade Reading Guarantee for promotion to
