K-8
facilities have given “above and beyond”

Dear
Editor,
On
August 6th we will have the opportunity to vote
on a request by
Greenville City Schools that addresses aging facilities and anchors the
district’s presence in the city park.
We’ve
been blessed with enjoying a long life from existing facilities. These facilities have
reached their economic
life. The K-8
facilities have given
“above and beyond” for our community
New
and renovated facilities will provide a more positive educational
environment
for the youth of our community. They
will also present our community as a progressive, caring and giving
community.
Many
components have come together that make this levy request a timely and
unique
opportunity for the community. Three
of
these reason are as follows:
- The
maximum opportunity to date for the local costs defrayed with the state
of Ohio
funding of 43% of the classroom construction costs and the retention of
the 12
½% real estate tax roll back.
- Historically
low financing costs.
- Seasoned
educational and district leadership with Doug Fries as Superintendent
and
conservative fiscal management with Carla Surber as Treasurer.
Schools
are one of the cornerstones of a community.
Please
join me in voting for our community with a “yes” vote for the tax
request on
August 6th.
Respectfully,
Larry
Holmes
