· Gov. John R. Kasich
and Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) Director Michael
Colbert visited the YMCA Early Learning Center in Columbus to discuss
how The Jobs Budget supports child care efforts.
· Kasich and Ohio
Department of Aging Director Bonnie Kantor-Burman spoke to members of
the Vandalia Senior Center about initiatives in The Jobs Budget that
will improve care and independence for Ohio’s seniors.

· Kasich joined
Diebold, Inc. officials in North Canton to announce that the company
will keep its corporate headquarters in Ohio and build a new corporate
campus to consolidate five facilities across Northeast Ohio.
· Kasich appointed J.
Randal Van Dyne to the State Emergency Response Commission.

· Kasich signed House
Bill 36 (Kozlowski), legislation that provides immediate relief to
school districts by increasing the number of calamity days from three
to five.
· Kasich swore-in newly
appointed PUCO Commissioner Andre Porter.
· Kasich issued a
statement praising the General Assembly for its passage of House Bill
21 (Combs), legislation directing the State Board of Education to issue
resident educator licenses to applicants assigned to teach in Ohio as
participants in the Teach for America program.

· Kasich spoke at a
luncheon hosted by the Cincinnati Rotary Club.
· Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor
joined officials from General Electric and the University of Dayton for
the groundbreaking of General Electric’s new $51 million Electrical
Power Integrated Systems Research and Development Center (EPISCenter)
located in Dayton.

Director Michael Colbert announced a new partnership between ODJFS and
the National Federation of Independent Business-Ohio (NFIB/OH) to
promote OhioMeansJobs.com and match small business owners looking to
hire with Ohioans looking for work.
