COLUMBUS—State
Senator Bill Beagle (R
– Tipp City) today touted the release of nearly $2.5 million in loans
and
grants that will assist in the creation of over 90 new, full-time jobs,
while
helping to retain an additional 80 existing positions. The funds will
be made
available to four area employers by way of the Ohio Controlling Board.
Two
Dayton businesses, Techmetals,
Inc. and Mound Laser & Photonics Center, Inc., will be
receiving $900,000
and $50,000 respectively, to assist with job creation and the purchase
of new
machinery and equipment. Columbia Properties, LTD, located in the City
of
Vandalia, will be receiving a $1.5 million loan to aid in its plan to
acquire a
new 96,000 square-foot facility and to add 10 new, full-time positions.
Also,
Flow Day Technology in the City of Brookville has committed to the
creation of
25 new jobs and has been awarded a grant of $25,000 to be used toward
the
purchase of new equipment.
“The
release of these funds will help
four of our region’s companies to expand operations and further grow
their
workforce,” Beagle said. “Southwest Ohio’s diverse industries are
leading the
way in reinvigorating Ohio’s economic landscape.”
Prior
to receiving approval from the Ohio
Controlling Board, these four funding projects garnered endorsement on
behalf
of the Development Financing Advisory Council (DFAC).
