Nuisance Abatement Structure Demolition

Upon receiving a complaint regarding the poor condition of a residential structure at 208 South Ohio Street, an inspection was made and the property was determined to be in violation of the City of Greenville Nuisance Abatement Code Property Maintenance Regulations. The property owner was required to repair or demolish the structure and remove the debris. The owner of the property failed to comply with the order. After lengthy legal proceedings the property was demolished using City of Greenville funds by J & A Construction. The cost of the asbestos abatement and demolition will be assessed to the taxes on the property to recover the tax dollars spent.
