Zumbrink
files for re-election
Scott J. Zumbrink, Darke County
Treasurer, has announced his plans to
run for re-election as treasurer.
December 2, 2011
Mr. Zumbrink has served as Darke
County Treasurer since October 1,
1993. During his
tenure as treasurer,
Zumbrink has been an advocate of investing taxpayer dollars with the
safety and
security of those dollars being of highest priority.
With this principle in mind, he has
maintained the goal of maximizing interest income by coordinated
investment
timing with cash flow needs through cooperation with local banks in
Darke
County.
He has improved office procedures with
the implementation of the option
of paying your real estate tax bill by credit card with a convenience
fee or by
electronic check. Also,
he has worked
with the Darke County Auditor so that taxpayers can access their real
estate
tax amount due online at www.darkecountyrealestate.org.
This has also served as an asset in
collecting delinquent real estate taxes due.
Scott’s educational background of
accounting and finance is very
beneficial in his position as treasurer.
He has a goal of continuous improvement of
office procedures to improve
answering taxpayers questions and cash flow management.
Helping with the achievement of these goals
are the continuing education units he has earned over the years from
the
auditor of state’s office, the state treasurer’s office, Cleveland
State
University and Kent State University.
Mr. Zumbrink, his wife, and daughter
reside on a fourth generation
family farm in Darke County. He
is a
member of the Greenville Kiwanis Club, Darke County Chamber of Commerce
and
numerous farm organizations. He
is also
an associate member of the Ohio Township Trustees Association because
of his
beliefs in grassroots government.
He
would like to continue serving the taxpayers of Darke County and
fulfilling the
goals he has set forth for the treasurer’s office.
