Ohio Expansion Projects to Create and
Retain More Than 1,103 Jobs
Projects Invigorate Regional Economies, Generate Jobs for Ohioans
Columbus –The State Controlling Board today approved grants
administered by the Ohio Department of Development that are expected to
create 568 jobs and retain 535 positions. Five Ohio businesses will
receive more than $840,553 in economic development grants to aid
economic growth, leveraging more than $11.7 million in additional
investment in the state.
The City of Greenville
will receive a $150,553 Roadwork Development Grant for the costs
associated with the completion of public roadwork improvements in
support of Continental Carbonic
Products, Inc.’s project in the City of Greenville (Darke
County). The project involves the construction of approximately 650
feet of roadway and four curb inlets north of the intersection of
Jaysville-St. Johns Road and Sebring-Warner Road, which will create
additional development and expansion opportunities at Greenville
Industrial Park. The $278,000 project is expected to assist in creating
72 jobs.
“Keeping Ohioans working while attracting new talent to our state is a
top priority for Ohio,” said Mark Kvamme, Director of the Ohio
Department of Development. “The possibilities for Ohio’s business
climate are very positive as we strive to make Ohio more attractive for
business.”
Celartia, Ltd. will receive a $75,000 Rapid Outreach Grant for the
costs associated with the acquisition of new machinery and equipment in
support of the company’s project in the City of Columbus (Franklin County).
In addition, the company will develop an injection-molded, assembled,
packaged, sterilized bioreactor. Celartia designs and manufactures
laboratory equipment for cell culture, which is the science and art of
growing human, animal, and plant cells in a laboratory environment. The
$360,000 project is expected to create 19 jobs.
The City of Cincinnati will
receive a $275,000 Roadwork Development Grant for the costs associated
with the completion of public roadwork improvements in support of Links
Unlimited, Inc. and Eurostampa North America’s expansion projects in
the City of Cincinnati (Hamilton County).
The project involves the construction of a new public road north of
Steger Drive, which will allow access to Summit Behavioral Healthcare,
the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Cincinnati regional garage,
Links Unlimited, Inc., and Eurostampa North America. The $619,000
project is expected to assist in creating 36 jobs and retaining 78
positions.
The City of Troy will receive
a $250,000 Roadwork Development Grant for the costs associated with the
completion of public roadwork improvements in support of ConAgra Foods
Packaged Foods, LLC’s expansion projects in the City of Troy (Miami
County). The project involves the repaving and widening of Dye Mill
Road (County Road 227) and adding a 1,200-foot turning lane at
ConAgra’s Property, which will promote safe semi-truck turning and
soften the hazardous road curve for semi-truck traffic. The more than
$1 million project is expected to assist in creating 191 jobs and
retaining 457 positions.
U.S. Cotton, LLC will receive a $90,000 Rapid Outreach Grant for the
costs associated with the acquisition of new machinery and equipment in
support of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga County).
U.S. Cotton manufactures private label and branded health, beauty aid,
pharmaceutical, and industrial cotton fiber products. The more than
$9.5 million project is expected to create 250 jobs.
The Rapid Outreach Grant is a grant program to assist companies and
communities that are creating or retaining jobs in Ohio. The Roadwork
Development Account provides grant assistance to communities for
highway and road projects related to job creation and retention. The
Roadwork Development Account is funded with gas tax dollars and is
restricted to public road projects only.
