Green runs for
Muncipal Court Judge
Jan. 11, 2011 - GREENVILLE - Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jesse
J. Green has filed his petition to run as a Republican candidate
for Municipal Court judge for the term to commence on January 1,
2012.
Jesse had served as an assistant prosecutor in Darke County since 1993.
He is a member and past president of the Darke County Bar Association,
He is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio
Prosecuting Attorney's Association and the National College of District
Attorneys.
"My judicial philosophy is based upon my courtroom experience, fairness
to all parties, and consistency in applying the law," said Green. "My
experiences as a prosecutor and a military lawyer to senior commanders
is invaluable and will be beneficial in running the day to day
operations of the municipal court and supervising the staff
efficiently." Green holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Ohio
Army National Guard. Before returning to Darke County in 1993, he
served nearly five years on active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps
serving as a judge advocate.
Green deployed for a one year tour of duty to Iraq in support of
Operation Iraqi Freedom in April, 2008 where he served as the Brigade
Command Judge Advocate for the 371 st
Sustainment Brigade at AI Asad Air Base in AI Anbar Province. He was
the Army's senior legal advisor for the entire western sector of Iraq.
He received the Bronze Star Medal for his military service in Iraq. He
is currently serving as the Command Staff Judge Advocate for the 73rd
Troop Command in Columbus, Ohio.
"If elected I will work hard every day to conduct the Court with
dignity and respect for others," stated Green, who received his law
degree in 1988 from the University of Dayton.
Green is a fiscally responsible conservative who believes that the
court should be run as a business. "I want to protect the taxpayers'
investment in the Court and make Darke County as safe as it can be.
Before any budget is approved or new expenses incurred, the question
should be asked: 'Is this expense to the taxpayers necessary'?'
Especially in these tough economic times, we must expect this from all
of our elected officials."
Green and his wife Tammy reside in Greenville and they have three
children: Ben, born in 1992; Mandy, born in 1994; and Sarah, born in
1996. Green is a member and past master of Greenville Masonic Lodge,
the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, the various York Rite Bodies, and
the Antioch Shrine Temple in Dayton. They are members of St. John
Lutheran Church in Greenville.
"I am very excited to announce my candidacy," Green said. "This
