Darke County Drug Task Force...
Investigation Leads
to ‘meth lab’ arrest
ANSONIA - On July 5th, 2011 at approximately 9:35 PM, the Darke County
Drug Task Force, in conjunction with Deputies from the Darke County
Sheriff’s Office arrested Lorraine Combs, 40, of West Manchester.
Narcotics Detectives received an anonymous complaint of a meth lab at
2632 State Route 47 in Ansonia. Upon the arrival of deputies, several
ingredients used the manufacturing of methamphetamine were found.
Due to the hazardous conditions that may occur when dealing with a meth
lab, the Ansonia Fire Department and Ansonia Rescue Squad were
requested to the scene. Also called to the scene for assistance with
the dismantling of the meth lab were officers from the Eaton Police
Department and the Attorney General’s BCI&I. A private contractor
had to be contacted to remove the material to a safe site.
Ms. Combs was arrested at the scene and taken to the Darke County Jail.
Ms. Combs is being held without bail until her initial appearance for a
charge of illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for manufacture
of drugs.
During the time of this investigation, deputies also found small
children in the residence ranging in age from 5-9 years old. Ms. Combs
is currently on parole from a 2008 drug arrest in Darke County where
she was convicted of Illegal Manufacturing of Drugs.
This investigation remains active at this time.
