Gov. John R. Kasich joined President
Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Speaker of the U.S. House
Representatives John Boehner for golf at Andrews Air Force Base in
Maryland.

Kasich signed Executive Order 2011-10K
authorizing the State Medical Board of Ohio to establish standards and
procedures for pain management clinics in Ohio to help fight
prescription drug
abuse and prevent clinics from operating as “pill mills.”
Kasich signed Executive Order 2011-11K
restricting the movement of hardwood logs, firewood, stumps, roots and
branches
out of Tate Township in Clermont County to help prevent the spread of
the Asian
longhorned beetle.

Kasich signed Executive Order 2011-12K
prohibiting state agencies from using public tax dollars to contract
for
services provided outside of the country.

Kasich joined Department of
Agriculture Director Jim Zehringer and State Fair General Manager
Virgil
Strickler in Columbus to announce the return of fireworks and other
exciting
events coming to the 158th Ohio State Fair this summer.
Kasich
released a statement praising the
General Assembly for its overwhelming support of House Bill 86
(Blessing,
Heard), historic legislation that makes substantial changes to Ohio’s
criminal
sentencing laws.
Kasich appointed James Robert
Williamson
to serve as a member of the Board of Tax Appeals.

Kasich joined executives of Janova in
New Albany to announce a company expansion and upgrades that will
result in the
creation of 116 high-paying, full-time jobs over three years and add an
additional $10.4 million in payroll.
Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor blasted the
President’s health care plan and its negative impact on Ohio’s economy
in what
will be a series of statewide guest columns.
