Gov. John R. Kasich announced an
agreement with Rock Ohio Caesars LLC that allows the company to resume
work on
the Cincinnati and Cleveland casino projects and said details of the
agreement
would be made public later in the week.
·
Kasich addressed more than 4,000
students, parents and school officials in Columbus at the 11th annual
graduating ceremonies for the Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow.

Kasich joined employees at
ThyssenKrupp in Hamilton to announce a new investment to manufacture
high-end
shock absorbers for cars and trucks that will result in the creation of
60 new
full-time jobs over three years.

Kasich joined the residents of
Millbury and Lake Township in Wood County to remember those who died
and to
praise the community’s emergency response when tornadoes ripped through
the
area roughly one year ago.
·
Kasich addressed more than 1,300 high
school juniors at the annual Buckeye Boys State program at Bowling
Green State
University and participated in the student’s mock government.
·
Kasich issued a resolution naming the
Dallas Mavericks as “Honorary Ohioans” for their NBA championship win
over the
Miami Heat and recognized finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki for choosing to
renew his
contract with Dallas in 2010 and forgoing free agency.

(Manning), legislation exempting from property taxes any public
recreational
facility used primarily by minor league baseball teams and Senate Bill
132
(Patton), legislation that designates the new I-90 innerbelt bridge in
Cleveland as the “George V. Voinovich Bridge.”

Kasich was joined by Rock Gaming CEO
Dan Gilbert in Cleveland and Cincinnati to discuss details of an
agreement
reached between the administration and Rock Ohio Caesars LLC that
allows work
to resume on the Cincinnati and Cleveland casino projects and provides
for ROC
to pay $110 million more to Ohio.

Kasich addressed members of the
National Federation of Independent Business during its Small Business
Day at
the Statehouse in Columbus and discussed The Jobs Budget.
·
Kasich issued a statement praising the
Ohio General Assembly’s passage of SCR4, a concurrent resolution
supporting a
U.S. Department of Energy loan for the United States Enrichment
Corporation
Inc.’s American Centrifuge Plant which could create 4,000 jobs in Ohio.

Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor discussed CSI
Ohio and its impact on job creation during an economic development
forum in
Green.

certified public accountants at the Ohio Society of CPA’s annual
meeting in
Columbus where he talked about The Jobs Budget and JobsOhio.

Kasich toured and dedicated the new,
state-of-the-art Tremco Inc. headquarters in Beachwood that will reduce
gas use
by 84%, electric use by 43%, materials sent to landfills by 90% and
save
thousands of gallons of water.

Kasich announced a new agreement with
Penn National Gaming, Inc. that would require the company to pay $110
million
to the state over 10 years and would apply Ohio’s Commercial Activity
Tax to
all wagers minus payouts.
·
Kasich appointed Daniel T. Swanson to the
Radiation Advisory Council and
Monte W. Yates to the Ohio Geology Advisory Council.
