U.S.
Representative John Boehner...
The Greatest Threat
To Our Economy Is Doing Nothing
Open Door Darke County:
Tuesday... 9:00 AM - Versailles Village Offices (177 North Center
Street)
Spending-driven deficits, record debt, and the threat of tax hikes are
smothering our economy with uncertainty and making it harder for small
businesses to hire new workers. This week, as the United States
reached the legal debt limit and our federal government came one step
closer to not being able to pay its bills, that uncertainty reached a
new high.
It is time for the Democrats who run Washington to present a
responsible plan to tackle out of control government spending and
address our job-crushing debt. We simply cannot continue to spend
money we don’t have, and kicking the can down the road is not an
option.
House Republicans have passed a serious plan by Chairman Paul Ryan to
put us on a path to balance the budget and pay down our debt, spur job
growth, and save programs like Medicare for current retirees and future
generations. And make no mistake, without serious budget reforms
and significant spending cuts there will be no debt limit increase.
We’ve taken action; now it’s time for Senate Democrats and President
Obama to do the same.
Sincerely,
John Boehner

Delivers The Commencement Address At The Catholic University Of America
“Growing up with 11 brothers and sisters, playing for Coach Faust,
serving in the United States Congress, I’ve learned that no one who
succeeds in life does it alone. You must be willing to lean on others,
listen to others, and yes, love others. Tony Snow, a great public
servant and former White House press secretary who lost his life to
cancer, stood at this lectern and told the class of 2007 that ‘to love
is to acknowledge that life is not about you.’ ’I want you to remember
that,’ he said, ‘It’s not about you. It’s a hard lesson, a lot of
people go through life and never learn it. It’s to submit willingly,
heart and soul, to things that matter.’ Tony’s wisdom is
timeless.” Read More
