Daytime Burglary
Suspects in Custody
On November 9, 2011 at approximately 11:05 AM Darke County Deputies and
Detectives responded to a residential burglar alarm at 6295 Willis
Rd. Deputies observed forced entry that had been made into the
residence however; the suspects had fled the scene prior to their
arrival. Darke County Detectives requested Union City Indiana K9
Officer to respond to the scene to conduct a search of the surrounding
wooded areas.
As Deputies conducted the investigation on Willis Rd., a second
burglary in progress was reported at 12:14 PM at 6377 Hartzell
Rd. The resident advised they had just returned home and observed
a suspicious dark colored car parked in the driveway in front of the
house. The resident observed two male subjects running from the
corner of the house towards the dark colored car. The two males fled
the area in the dark colored car. The resident entered the house
and found that it had been ransacked. The resident was able to
obtain the license plate number from the dark colored car that the two
male subjects had fled in and reported it to Deputies. Darke
County Deputies immediately responded to the scene and also patrolled
the area; however the suspects were not located at that time.
Darke County Deputies learned that the registration of the suspect’s
car, a 1997 Dark Blue Cadillac, returned to a residence on Troy-Urbana
Rd. in Miami County, Ohio. Darke County Deputies advised Miami
County Deputies to be on the look out for this vehicle.
At 3:17 PM Miami County Deputies and Detectives located the Dark Blue
Cadillac and stopped the two male suspects in the area of Troy-Urbana
Rd. The suspects were identified as Kevin Robert Krug II, 29,
Troy, Ohio and Manuel Ernesto Monsivais, 31, Tipp City, Ohio.
Krug and Monsivais were taken into custody on unrelated drug charges
and Monsivais also had on an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Miami County Deputies impounded the Cadillac and transported Krug and
Monsivais to the Miami County Jail.
At 3:29 PM, Darke County Deputies, responded to the report of yet
another burglary that occurred at 6387 State Route 571 East. The
resident advised they just returned home and found that forced entry
had been made into the house and loaded firearms were stolen.
Later, the Miami County Sheriff’s Office notified Darke Deputies /
Detectives that they had located and arrested the above mentioned
suspects. Darke County Investigators traveled to Miami County and
interviewed Monsivais and Krug. Based on the information obtained
throughout the course of the investigation, multiple burglary and theft
charges will be filed on Krug and Monsivais through the Darke County
Prosecutor’s Office; prior to them being released on their own
recognizance or bond in Miami County.
Investigation continues with these cases.
