9-year-old charged in
Greenville arson
GREENVILLE, Ohio — Police in Greenville said they have arrested and
charged a 9-year-old with arson in connection with a business fire on
Oct. 30.
The fire happened at Miami Valley Vending Services on Martin Street.
Detectives said the 9-year-old was charged through Juvenile Court. They
said they have been talking with the child since last Monday.
According to police, the child confessed to setting the fire, but could
not tell officers why he set the fire. Police also said the child will
face charges in connection with a firefighter being injured during the
fire.
The fire caused $350,000 in damage. Police said no one else will be
charged in the case.
