UC man dead following
2-vehicle accident
On November 16, 2011 at approximately 4:08 PM Darke County Deputies,
along with Ansonia Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to the intersection
of State Route 49 and Beamsville-Union City Road in reference to a two
vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 1991 Ford F150 truck,
driven by Guadalupe Delacruz, 59, of Union City, Ohio, was eastbound on
Beamsville-Union City Road approaching the stop sign at State Route
49. A red 1994 Ford truck, driven by Michael L. Fisher, 62, of
Fort Recovery, was southbound on State Route 49 when Delacruz’s vehicle
traveled into the intersection. The Fisher vehicle struck the
driver’s side of Delacruz’s vehicle. Both vehicles traveled off
the roadway and into a bean field.
Delacruz was pronounced dead at the scene. Fisher was transported
to Wayne Hospital by Ansonia Rescue where he was treated and released.
This is the fifth fatal traffic accident on Darke County roadways this
year. The accident remains under investigation by the Darke
County Sheriff’s Office and the Darke County Coroner’s Office.
