Brown Introduces Infrastructure
Bill to Support Critical Projects like the Brent Spence Bridge
July
2011, the American Society of
Civil Engineers released a report that said failing infrastructure
could cost
the U.S. $2.7 trillion in lost productivity and income in trade in
coming
decades. To address this problem, Sen. Brown announced new legislation
that
would put Ohioans back to work repairing and building roads, bridges,
ports,
and railways.
Sen.
Brown’s bill would create a
national infrastructure bank to provide loans and loan guarantees for
critical
infrastructure projects like the Brent Spence Bridge. In August, Sen.
Brown
visited Cincinnati to discuss how his bill would increase economic
competitiveness and leverage public and private funding to create jobs
and
repair critical projects like the Brent Spence Bridge.
