Single vehicle
injury accident
New Weston- On April 10, 2012 at approximately 8:54 AM, Darke
County Deputies, along with Ansonia Rescue, North Star Fire and
Careflight, were dispatched to the 13300 Block of Ross Medford Rd. in
York Township in reference to a one vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed that gold 2004 Honda, driven by
Carrie Barga of New Weston, was northbound on Ross Medford Rd. when she
failed to maintain control of her vehicle. Barga’s vehicle
traveled off the left side of the roadway, over corrected going back on
the roadway and then off the left side again into the ditch and over
turning several times. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels in
a field.
Barga, the sole occupant of the car was wearing her seat belt at the
time of the crash which secured her in the vehicle and likely was a
contributing factor in saving her life.
Barga was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital, where she is currently
listed in good condition at the time of this release.
The accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s
Office.
