Controlling
Board Approval of Abbot Labs’ Tipp City Project
COLUMBUS –In his first appearance as a substitute member on the state’s
Controlling Board, State Senator Bill Beagle (R – Tipp City) today
voted for the approval of a $1.6 million grant for Abbot Laboratories
to develop a new manufacturing facility in Tipp City. Part of the
funding will be used to create 241 new full-time jobs at the new
location.
“The dirt is already moving and construction will soon be underway in
Tipp City,” Beagle said. “It is clear that Ohio is open for business,
and the Miami Valley is certainly reaping the rewards of this new
aggressive approach to business attraction and job creation.”
Controlling Board also approved a $600,000 Roadwork Development Grant
to the city of Tipp City for public roadword improvements associated
with the Abbot Labs project. The state’s Development funding leverages
an additional $145 million of private investment committed by the
company.
Senator Bill Beagle serves the people of Ohio’s 5th Senate District,
which includes Miami County and portions of Montgomery and Darke
Counties.
