Eastman
Kodak Co. posted nearly $200 million in losses for the first two months
of the
year, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange
Commission.
The figures
are included in monthly operating reports required to be filed with the
company’s bankruptcy court.
Kodak lost
$100.3 million in January and $97.3 million in February. During the
period, the
company posted about $312 million in revenue.
On January
19, Kodak voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The
latest
monthly operating reports do not reflect its international businesses
that were
not part of the bankruptcy filing.
The company
will layoff 68 workers at its Kettering facility by April 19, according
to a
filing with the state of Ohio. It is expected to cut a total of 80
local
workers as part of its reorganization.
Kodak has
570 employees at its Kettering facility on Research Boulevard, which
makes
inkjet printers.
Despite the
cuts, the Kettering facility may fare better than others. Kodak
recently said
it plans to phase out its digital and pocket video cameras and frames
this year
to continue focusing on its more profitable business ventures.
