Injury accident near Union City 

On August 5, 2012 at approximately 7:38 PM Darke County Deputies, along with Union City, Ohio Rescue, Union City, Ohio Fire, and Careflight helicopter were dispatched to the 600 block of State Route 571, in reference to a one vehicle injury accident. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina, driven by Christopher L. Rogers, 36, Greenville, Ohio was traveling northwest on State Route 571 when he lost control of the vehicle traveling off the north side of the roadway striking a utility pole.  The vehicle then spun approximately 180 degrees.  The vehicle then struck a tree where it came to rest on its driver’s side.  The front passenger John T. Boney, 36, Greenville, Ohio was transported to Wayne Hospital.  Mr. Rogers is listed in stable condition, and Mr. Boney was later transported to Miami Valley Hospital where is listed in Stable condition. 

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
