Cain:
‘We
Must Outsmart the Stupid People Running America’

– In a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference in
Washington on
Thursday, former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain hailed
the
American Revolution -- and said it’s time for another one.
“It’s time
for a new American revolution, not with bombs and bullets but with
brains and
balance,” Cain said. “We must outsmart liberals. We must outsmart the
stupid
people running America.”
Cain, who
was forced from the presidential race over allegations of sexual
harassment and
marital infidelity, said he quit the Republican presidential race to
“put
family first.”
Cain,
former Godfather’s Pizza and former president of the National
Restaurant
Association, surged to the head of the Republican presidential field in
late
2011. He told a crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference
on
Thursday that he appreciated the support of conservatives.
“There were
two reasons I dropped out of the race -- gutter politics, and two, I
chose to
put my family first,” Cain said.
“In making
that decision, I knew we together could change Washington from the
bottom up,
even if your David didn’t make it to the White House,” he said – a
reference to
David and Goliath.
Cain also
announced that he is endorsing “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher, who is
running
for the House in Ohio.
Wurzelbacher
– who famously engaged then-Sen. Barack Obama in a discussion about
redistributing wealth -- supports Cain’s 9-9-9 tax plan, which calls
for a 9
percent tax on income, a 9 percent sales tax and a 9 percent payroll
tax.
