Injury accident
at 49 and Pitsburg Laura Rd
On January 16, 2012 at 7:08 PM Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum
Fire and Arcanum Rescue were dispatched to the intersection of State
Route 49 and Pitsburg Laura Road reference a two vehicle injury
accident.
Investigation revealed that a 2004 Chevy Impala, driven by Benjamin
Stump, 17, of Arcanum was northbound on State Route 49 attempting to
turn left. A 1992 Olds Cutlass, driven by James Bingham,
58, of Greenville was traveling southbound on State Route 49 when the
vehicles struck head-on in the intersection.
Stump refused treatment by Arcanum Rescue. Bingham was treated by
Arcanum Rescue and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where he is
listed in fair condition.
The accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s
Office.
