Beagle
Appointed to Governor’s Executive Workforce Board
COLUMBUS —
State Senator Bill Beagle (R – Tipp City) was recently chosen to serve
on the
newly-created Governor’s Executive Workforce Board.
Governor
John Kasich established the Executive Workforce Board on February 9,
2012
through an executive order. As a member of the panel, Beagle will play
a role
in advising the Governor and the Office of Workforce Transformation
regarding
the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Ohio’s
workforce
system.
“Our region
has seen no shortage of success lately in terms of economic expansion,”
Beagle
said. “However, business leaders throughout the Miami Valley are still
struggling to find qualified skilled workers to fill open jobs. In
order to
connect employers with job-seeking Ohioans, we must revamp our state’s
workforce development efforts.”
In addition
to state lawmakers, various representatives from state agencies and
Ohio’s
business community will serve on the board.
Senator Bill Beagle serves the people of
Ohio’s 5th Senate District, which includes Miami County and portions of
Montgomery and Darke Counties.
