Darke County Sheriff’s Office
Search
continues for suspect after new sighting
Robert Kindred object of two-day search in Darke County
On July 16, 2012 at approximately 11:19 AM the Miami County Sheriff’s
Office notified the Darke County Sheriff’s Office that a deputy was
requesting assistance in stopping a stolen vehicle near Bradford,
Ohio. A pursuit of this vehicle ensued and at approximately 11:39
AM the suspect entered a cornfield in the area of the 9600 block of
Kelch Road in Darke County south of Versailles. The suspect
jumped from the moving vehicle. Deputies and Police Officers from
Versailles pursued the subject into a cornfield and woods. The
corn was high enough to make the search difficult along with the
limited number of officers in the initial search. A perimeter of
the area was established until more officers arrived.
Darke County Deputies, Miami County Deputies, Shelby County Deputies
and Police Officers from Greenville, Versailles, and New Madison
responded to assist in the search. K-9 officers responded from
Preble County and Camden Police Department. Air support was
provided by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
K-9’s tracked the suspect to a large wooded area near Klipstine Road
and St. Peter Road. Law Enforcement searched the area until 5:10
PM without locating the suspect. Patrols are continuing in
the area at the time of this release.
The suspect in today’s pursuit is believed to be Robert Scott
Kindred. Kindred is wanted on a warrant issued by the Ohio Adult
Parole Authority for a parole violation. This is the second day
in a row that authorities have pursued Kindred without
success. Darke County Deputies expect to meet with the
Darke County Prosecutor to obtain an arrest warrant on further charges.
Citizens are advised to lock their vehicles and do not leave keys in
their cars. Kindred is suspected of stealing vehicles in the area
and targets vehicles with keys left in the ignition.
Robert Scott Kindred is a white male, age 42, 5’08” in height, 160 lbs
with brown hair and brown eyes. He does have tattoos on his chest
and arms. Anyone with information on the location of Robert Scott
Kindred is asked to contact the Darke County Sheriff’s Office or their
local law enforcement agency.
