Ohio sits
squarely in the middle, when it comes to the best states in which to do
business. The Buckeye State ranks No. 25 in a new report from CNBC.
The report
scores all 50 states amid 51 areas of competitiveness, which includes
advice
from groups such as the National Association of Manufacturers and the
Council
on Competitiveness.
The 51
areas are sorted into 10 categories: cost of doing business, quality of
the
work force, quality of life, overall economy, transportation and
infrastructure, technology and innovation, education, business
friendliness,
access to capital and cost of living.
Ohio
received high marks in cost of living (No. six in the U.S.) and ranked
No. 10
in infrastructure and transportation.
However,
the state received poor marks when it came to workforce (No. 49) and
quality of
life (No. 44).
Texas was
named the top state for business on CNBC’s list, while Rhode Island was
last at
No. 50.
