DARKE
COUNTY, Ohio — In Darke County Common Pleas Court in Greenville Friday
Lyle
Duke, 36, of near West Manchester entered a plea of guilty to one count
of illegal
manufacturing of drugs.
His arrest
came on April 5, 2012. He consented to a search of his barn located on
U. S.
Route 127 on the Darke County side of the Darke-Preble County line.
Duke also
reportedly confessed to investigators.
He was
immediately sentenced by Judge Jonatha Hein to a mandatory three years
in
prison, but a mandatory $7,500 fine, plus court costs and restitution
for lab
fees of $125.
The change of plea averted a jury trial
that was scheduled to commence next Thursday, July 12, according to
Darke
County Prosecutor R. Kelly Ormsby III.
