WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) released
the
following statement today after the House passed the Health Care Cost
Reduction
Act (H.R. 436), a pro-growth jobs bill that repeals ObamaCare’s tax on
medical
devices and will help lower health care costs for struggling families
and small
businesses:
“The
president’s health care law is raising costs and making it harder for
small
businesses to hire new workers. Last week’s dismal jobs report showed
the
president’s policies aren’t working, and laws like ObamaCare – with its
mandates, penalties, and tax hikes like the one the House voted to
repeal today
– are only making things worse.
“This
bill
not only stops a devastating new tax that is already forcing American
job
creators to ship work overseas, it makes common-sense reforms to help
reduce
health care costs for families and allow them to keep more of their
hard-earned
dollars. This is the 30th vote by the House aimed at repealing,
defunding, or
dismantling a portion of ObamaCare. And unless the Supreme Court throws
out the
entire law, we will keep working to repeal whatever is left. Anything
less than
full repeal is unacceptable.
“I want to
thank Representatives Erik
Paulsen, Lynn Jenkins, and Charles Boustany for their work on this
measure, and
for their continued focus on creating a better environment for
private-sector
job creation in America.”
