Public Meeting
Minutes on Lucas settlement posted
Darke County Commissioners…
The public meeting minutes for Monday, March 12, and Wednesday, March
14, have been posted. These are the meetings in which there was
considerable discussion regarding the County settlement with Melody
Lucas, the Whistleblower who cost June Mong, Director of the Darke
County EMA, her job.
Darke County Commissioner Diane Delaplane and an unnamed county
employee were stated as the reason for the settlement with Lucas.
Also posted (from last week) were the March 5 meeting minutes in which
the settlement was announced; but did not at that time implicate
Delaplane.
Considerable information has been published in the media, including
County News Online, regarding the claim that, before it’s over, will
likely cost county taxpayers more than $64,000.
Taxpayers
have access to the minutes of these meetings by making a
request at the Commissioners Office, next to the Darke County
Courthouse. Or they can read them in their entirety at CNO. County News
Online thanks the Darke County Commissioners, and especially Robin
Blinn who prepares them, for making them available to CNO readers.
