County Commissioner Diane Delaplane and Greenville Schools
Superintendent were on hand to see the tallies Tuesday evening.
With 40 of 43 precincts reporting, Darke County Commissioner Diane
Delaplane has retained her seat over challenger Aaron Ward with 64
percent of the vote, 4582 to 2625.
Sitting Juvenile Probate Judge Jason Aslinger has retained his seat
over challenger James Detling with 65 percent of the vote, 4880 to
2675, and sitting Clerk of Courts Cindy Pike has retained her seat over
challenger Amanda Farley with 72 percent of the vote, 4926 to 1955.
With 24 of 26 precincts in, the Greenville City Schools Renewal Levy
passed with 56 percent of the vote, 2529 to 1991.
With all six precincts reporting, the Tri-Village Additional Levy
failed by 55 percent, 492 for, 600 against.
With 8 of 9 precincts reporting, the Versailles Schools Income Tax Levy
passed with 67 percent of the vote, 980 to 486.
In the Presidential vote, Darke County supported Rick Santorum over
Mitt Romney. Santorum received 3271 votes to Romney’s 2167. Newt
Gingrich came in third with 1569 votes. Ron Paul came in fourth with
722 votes.
In the U.S. Senate race, Josh Mandel was supported by Darke Countians
with 58 percent of the vote: 3282 votes out of a total 5626.
