Sears
Holdings Corp. plans to close 62 more stores in the first half of 2012.
In a filing
with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the retailer said it will
shut 43
of its Hometown Stores, 10 of its hardware stores and all nine of its
Great
Indoors stores.
There is
more than 25 Hometown Stores in Ohio, including one in Greenville and
one Great
Indoors store in Farmers Branch. The company did not identify
individual stores
in the filing.
The
closings are in addition to as many as 120 poorly performing Sears and
Kmart
stores the retailer has already announced it would close. The Kmart
store on
Derr Road in Springfield is the only Dayton-area store to make this
list.

In
February, the company announced that it is separating its house wares,
outlet
and some hardware stores from its core business as it looks to raise
capital.
