The parents
of Master Sgt. William “Bub” McDaniel II, killed in a chopper crash in
the
Philippines ten years ago, February 22, 2002, would like closure. They
wanted
one minute to speak with Pres. Obama while in Dayton Monday night at UD
Arena.
They wanted him to ask military
officials to check the shore line around some of the islands close to
where
their son was killed in search of
his
remains.
The family
wants to lay him to rest.
The Chinook
transport helicopter was on a night time training mission when the
crash
occurred. There were no survivors. All ten soldiers on board were
killed. Two
bodies were never recovered, one was McDaniel. He was a pararescueman
with the
United States Air Force.
His parents said they have written letters
to Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama, but they have gone
unanswered.
