One vehicle
injury accident on Arcanum Bears Mill Road
On May 4, 2012 at approximately 12:43 PM Darke County Deputies, along
with Arcanum Fire, Arcanum Rescue and CareFlight were dispatched to the
3500 Block of Arcanum Bears Mill Road in reference to a one vehicle
injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a green 1995 GMC van, driven by
Carol Simason, 49, Gordon, Ohio was southbound on Arcanum Bears Mill
Road when she traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a
guardrail. Simason’s vehicle traveled across the roadway striking
a utility pole and a tree. Simason’s vehicle came to rest in the
side ditch.
Simason was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight.
Simason’s passengers were three small children, Greenville Township
Rescue was dispatched to the scene. Two of the children were
transported to Wayne HealthCare for further evaluation.
The condition of the occupants is unknown at this time.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s
Office.
