Workforce
Center breaks ground in Greenville
May 15, 2012
GREENVILLE,
Ohio — When it comes time to retool the workforce in Darke County based
on the
needs of the manufacturing industry, the workers will be trained in
their home
county.
The county
is setting up a Workforce Development Center in Greenville at the
Career Tech
Center, which is part of the Greenville City School District.
The center
will be operated in cooperation with local, county and state officials.
The center
will prepare the available workforce with the skills necessary to fill
the
needs of the manufacturers.
While some
counties are losing jobs, Darke County in the past two years has
attracted
jobs.
State Sen.
Bill Beagle said it’s good to see local jurisdictions starting to work
together
to solve the problem on a local level.
