Multiple injury
accident at Hwy 36 & Arcanum Bears Mill
Greenville - On November 11, 2012 at 11:54 a.m. Darke County Deputies
along with Gettysburg Fire and Rescue were dispatch to US36 and Arcanum
Bears Mill Rd. in reference to a two vehicle injury accident. Due
to the amount of injuries reported Greenville Township Rescue was also
dispatched for mutual aid.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Buick, driven by Donnie
D. Baker (77) of Greenville, was northbound on Arcanum Bears Mill Rd.
and had stopped at the intersection of US36. Baker then pulled
out into the intersection and was struck by 1978 Chevy Nova, driven by
Jimmy W. Keen (40) of Union City, OH, which was heading eastbound on
US36.
Donnie Baker and his passenger, Larry Baker, of Greenville, were
trapped in their vehicle and were extricated by Gettysburg Fire and
Rescue and Greenville Township Rescue. Both Baker subjects were
transported to Miami ValleyHospital by CareFlight. Jimmy Keen was
treated by Gettysburg Rescue and was also transported to Miami Valley
Hospitalby CareFlight. Keen’s passenger, Jimmy Keen Jr. (15) of
Union City, Ohio was treated and transported by Greenville Township
Rescue to Wayne Hospital.
At this time the condition of all four subjects is unknown.
Charges are pending for failure to yield at a stop sign. This
accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s
Office.
