Death on Darke County roads
Three fatal accidents on the same day
Five dead, several injured in separate Darke County accidents.
DARKE COUNTY — A third accident, this one with three confirmed
fatalities, occurred on the roadways of Darke County Saturday evening.
This was a single car crash on Byrket Road at Alana Drive. The victims
were three young persons from Greenville. The identities and ages have
not been released. The crash is under investigation.
This brings to Darke County a total of 5 fatalities with 3 accidents.
Sgt. Shawn Trissel, 18 years with the Darke County Sheriffs office was
quoted as saying: “I’ve never seen this before in my career,” and
commented: “slow down and pay attention.”
This afternoon, the driver of a car died after Darke County sheriff’s
speculated the car driver failed to yield at a stop sign colliding with
a semi truck at intersection of US route 127 and State route 503 near
Arcanum in Darke County.
Initial reports state that the driver of the car was ejected
approximately 50 feet from the accident. The car was also reported to
be on its top.
Careflight was on scene and removed a 13 year old passenger of the car
to a Dayton area hospital. The driver of the semi truck was not
injured. No word on the status of the 13 year old.
On Saturday morning, another fatal accident occurred on 127 just 15 miles away at the intersection of State route 47.
One driver is dead, and another is being treated at an area hospital
after an accident at U.S. 127 and State Route 47 Saturday morning.
News Center 7’s Steve Baker said that one driver was dead at the scene,
and the other was taken to Wayne Health Care in Greenville after the
5:30 a.m. accident west of Versailles.
Baker said the accident wreckage ended up in a parking lot adjacent to
the intersection. He said the intersection was shut down for several
hours while an accident reconstruction team did its work.
The victims’ identities of the first two fatalities should be released late Saturday.

Semi verses car crash turns fatal
Second fatal today on US route 127
DARKE COUNTY — About 7 p.m. Sunday… The driver of a car has died after
Darke County sheriff’s speculate they failed to yield at a stop sign
colliding with a semi truck at intersection of US route 127 and State
route 503 near Arcanum in Darke County.

Severe Accidents in Darke County
DARKE COUNTY — A third possible fatality on the roadways of Darke
County. As of 5:30pm, Darke County sheriffs are on another severe
accident. This one is a single car crash on Byrket Road at Alana Drive.
Three persons have been injured. At this time the crash is under
investigation.
