Two Darke
County accidents; one resulting in a fatality
On April 19, 2013 at approximately 0903 am Darke County Deputies along
with Ansonia Fire, Ansonia Rescue, and Union City Rescue was dispatched
to the 2700 block of Beamsville Union City Road in reference to a
single vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a green 2000 Ford Taurus driven by
Teresa Corn, 55, Union City Indiana was eastbound on Beamsville Union
City Road. Ms. Corn’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the
roadway, sticking a utility pole. Ms. Corn’s vehicle continued
through a residential yard and struck a tree. Mrs. Corn and the
passenger, Daniel Fries, 64, Englewood Ohio, were trapped inside the
vehicle. Ms. Corn was extracted from the vehicle and transported to
Wayne Hospital. Mr. Fries was pronounced dead at the scene.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s
Office and Darke County Coroner’s Office.
At approximately 2:05 pm Darke County Deputies along with Gettysburg
Fire, Arcanum Rescue, and Greenville Rescue were dispatched to the
intersection of State Route 571 and Arcanum Bears Mill Road in
reference to a two vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a silver 2000 Lincoln Sedan driven
by Clinton Randall, 39, of Greenville was southbound on Arcanum Bears
Mill Road when he failed to yield to an eastbound vehicle. A 16
year old male driving a Ford F250 struck Mr. Randall’s vehicle in the
passenger side. Mr. Randall was extricated from his vehicle by
Gettysburg Fire and transported to Miami Valley Hospital by
CareFlight. The 16 year old male was transported to Wayne
Hospital by Arcanum Rescue with minor injuries. At this time Mr.
Randall’s condition is unknown.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s
Office.
