On August 11, 2013 at 9:20 pm Darke County Deputies, Gettysburg Fire and Rescue with Careflight were dispatched to the 6700 block of US 36 East on a single vehicle accident with injuries. Preliminary investigation shows a 1993 Toyota Camry, driven by Jared Chadd of Arcanum, lost control driving off of the right side of the roadway striking a utility pole. The driver was trapped in the vehicle for 20 to 30 minutes before Gettysburg fire extricated him. The driver was flown to MiamiValley Hospital by Careflight where he is currently listed in critical condition. 

The Darke County Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene due to the severity of the accident.  The accident is still under investigation.
