Tier III sex
offender apprehended at fair
By Bob Robinson
GREENVILLE – At 6:57 p.m. on Aug. 20, Darke County Sheriff Deputies
identified and arrested Tyrus A. Worsham, a Tier III sex offender, for
parole violation. He was working in the Midway at the Darke County Fair.
According to an unconfirmed report, he was recognized working in an
area that catered to juveniles.
Worsham, 26, was first convicted of three counts of Unlawful Sexual
Conduct with a Minor, all Felony Four offenses, on Feb. 12, 2009. The
victim was 15 years old. Darke County Common Pleas Judge Jonathon Hein
sentenced him to either seven months in prison or six months in the
MonDay Program. He completed the program. Worsham was classified a Tier
II sex offender. The Prosecuting Attorney was the late Richard M.
Howell.
He was convicted of a Felony Two offense with a different victim, this
one 13 years old, on Jan. 26, 2010. Darke County Prosecutor R. Kelly
Ormsby noted this was Worsham’s second offense. Worsham was sentenced
to three years in prison with 93 days credit for time served. He was
classified as a Tier III sex offender.
Worsham’s defense attorney in both instances was Theodore O. Finnarn,
Greenville.
According to the court order there was five years of mandatory
supervision upon release. Worsham was released Oct. 10, 2012, and has
his address 1837 Snyder Road in Piqua.
Ormsby said since this is a parole violation, the case will be heard by
the Adult Parole Authority. Worsham is currently in the Darke County
Jail.
