GREENVILLE
- On July 27 Greenville police was
dispatched to Wayne Hospital Emergency Room regarding a disorderly
patient, James
Foutz. He was agitated and cursing out loud. The victim, Marcia
Holmgren,
stated they were waiting on a mental health evaluation due to
threats to kill
himself. Foutz reportedly was attempting to remove his I.V.; she was
trying to
keep him from doing it. Foutz said “If you touch me, you won’t live to
regret
it.” He also reportedly shouted at other nurses, telling them he was
going to
kick their *****. While a mental health representative was there, Foutz
reportedly kept shouting profanity at the nurses, then told the
representative
he’d had a long day and wanted to end it. When asked why, he used
profanity,
shouting at her he didn’t have to tell her anything. He then said he
was “going
******* home.” The officer told him to sit back down. Foutz then
“aggressively
lunged” for him and grabbed his left arm. The officer had to force him
to the
ground at which time he handcuffed him. The mental health
representative
completed paperwork for Foutz to be transferred to Detmer at Upper
Valley
Hospital. Foutz was cited for disorderly conduct, and a report will be
forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review regarding felony
assault on an
officer.
DRUGS
On
Aug. 4 Greenville police responded to a call
from Darke County Game Warden Jeff Wenning. Police were dispatched to
the
Prairie Meadow Park behind the Maid Rite. A Darke County Sheriff’s
deputy had
already responded and after being given permission, searched a vehicle
occupied
by Crystal Lennon, Daniel Griggs and Adam Best. A marijuana pipe,
tobacco
grinder and rolling papers were located where Best had been sitting. A
green
leafy vegetation was located where Griggs had been sitting. The
Sheriff’s
Deputy indicated this was in the Greenville jurisdiction, so Wenning
called
Greenville PD. The Greenville officer confirmed the items belonged to
the noted
individuals. Wenning wrote out a statement regarding the incident. Best
was
cited for drug paraphernalia and Griggs was cited for drug abuse.
On
July 31 Greenville police were dispatched to
the 800 block of Gray Avenue regarding two subjects in a car. The male
was
Jeremiah Burkhart and the female was Ashley Bolin. Both were acting
sluggish
and could barely keep their eyes open. The officer spoke with Burkhart
first
who said he had no idea how they got where they were and that Lee Ware
had been
driving them around. He didn’t know where Ware was. The officer noticed
Bolin
reaching across the front seat and getting her purse and flip flops.
She was
asked to step out of the car. Bolin called her grandfather to pick her
up and
when he arrived, immediately put her purse in the truck. The officer
was
advised by another officer the suspects could be in possession of a
stolen
handgun. Bolin’s stepfather Chris Schlamb pulled up, at which time
Bolin
grabbed her purse and headed to his vehicle. Because of the report
about the
handgun the officer picked up the purse. Bolin got angry; the officer
advised
her for safety reasons, he had to check her purse. He found two
syringes and a
spoon in an interior pocket. Bolin was issued a citation for possessing
drug
abuse instruments and released with instructions to see her probation
officer.
Burkhard was released from the scene with no charges.
