Police
Beat
Assault,
vandalism and a “take me
to jail” complaint
GREENVILLE
- On Aug. 11 at 1:23
a.m. police responded to 1120 Russ Road regarding an assault that took
place.
The victim, Bryce Hodges, advised that he and several of his friends
had just
left the Triangle. There had been fights there but he hadn’t been
involved in
any of them. They left the Triangle and came to Taco Bell for food.
While in
the drive through line a group of males jumped him. He stated he had
never seen
them before. Hodges got a license plate number but couldn’t identify
the make
or color of the vehicle. Hodges appeared to have a dried bloody nose
and a
scrape over his left eye. He was intoxicated so was advised he needed
to sober
up before making a report. Hodges called later that day and filled out
a
witness statement. He said he and four others went to the Triangle.
There were
no problems. They went to Taco Bell where they were jumped by five
white males.
One suspect reached in and punched Hodges and his girlfriend, Lauren
Baker.
Hodges added that his friend, Justin Cox was dragged from the vehicle.
Hodges
told police he was punched as he tried to walk away. One of the
suspects gave
Hodges the name of the main aggressor in the incident. The name matched
the
license plate number; however the owner was in his 40s. The aggressors
appeared
to be in their 20s. Police advised Hodges that statements need to be
obtained
from all subjects, including the vehicle owner, before charges can be
pursued.
