Police
respond to assault, rash of burglaries
On
Nov. 18 police were dispatched to 219 E. Water St. regarding an
assault complaint. Roxanne Longenecker was moving out of Sharon
Snyder’s house. A dispute started over a microwave Snyder was going
to hold until rent money still owed was paid. Longenecker admitted to
spitting in Snyder’s face and attempting to choke her. Snyder had
visible scratch marks and bruising on her neck area near her collar
bone. Longenecker was cited for assault and warned reference
trespassing.
THEFT/BURGLARY/ROBBERY
On
Nov. 6 an unknown suspect pulled into the Circle Mart Gas Station and
pumped fuel, then left without paying. Suspect was driving an early
1990’s short bed pickup truck, dark blue or almost black. It was
possibly an S-10 with no tail gate, had some rusted areas and has a
white light showing to the rear of the vehicle on the passenger side.
Suspect was a white male, 5 ft. 10 inches to 6 ft. tall wearing a
heavy jacket with the hood pulled around his face.
On
Nov. 17 police were dispatched to a residence on a theft of drugs.
The victim had gotten her medication (methadone) in Richmond on Nov.
14. Three bottles were locked in a bag and stored. The victim took
one dose on Nov. 15. Over the next couple of days the victim was
transported to Wayne ER and also had a family emergency. On Nov. 17
the victim was going to take her next dose and discovered the bag was
missing. There was no visible forced entry and no suspects.
On
Nov. 17 police were dispatched to 643 Sweitzer St. to speak with
Tracy Miniard regarding a burglary. She stated she was moving out of
her residence and came home to find her front door forced open and a
55-inch flatscreen TV stolen. She named a suspect who had admitted to
stealing a 48-inch TV before and selling it. She said she let that
pass but felt this TV was stolen by the same person. Attempts to
reach the individual have not yet been successful.
On
Nov. 9 police responded to 209 Euclid Ave. Apt. A regarding theft
from a shed behind the residence. The victim Todd Magato said an
unknown suspect damaged the lock and took a Craftsman push lawn
mower, Craftsman weed eater, Craftsman gas blower and a five gallon
gas can. Nothing further.
On
Nov. 11 police responded to 216 Rhoades Ave. regarding a theft and
damage to Chasity Shumaker’s vehicle. Various items had been
removed and the sunroof had been damaged by an unknown item. No
suspects.
On
Nov. 9 police were investigating a Breaking & Entering at 150
Central Ave. when they noticed a door standing open in a detached
garage behind 144 Central Ave. The door had been forced open. The
victim, Jaime Kiser, advised her son’s BMX style bicycle with foot
pegs was missing. It was spray painted black and gold. No suspects or
witnesses.
On
Nov. 9 police responded to 211 Central Ave. regarding a burglary to a
detached garage. The victim Jamie Acton advised his son’s mongoose
bike had been taken. The victim’s vehicle had also been ransacked
but nothing appeared to be taken. Nothing further.
On
Nov. 9 police responded to 216 Harrison Ave. regarding a Breaking &
Entering into a garage. The victim Sharon Condy advised subjects
broke the window on the west side of the garage and took a Craftsman
leaf blower; possibly a rake as well. While on the call at 211
Central Ave. a citizen advised there was a leaf blower and a rake
near the citizen’s fence that did not belong to him. The leaf
blower was a Craftsman. The items were returned to the owner.
BULLET
HOLE
On
Nov. 14 police responded to 217 E. Fifth St. due to a small hole in
the bedroom ceiling of the complainant, Pamela Miller. She also
observed two markings on a wood hutch near the area where the hole
was in the ceiling. Further searching revealed a bullet on the floor
under the hutch. Police spoke with another resident regarding the
possibility of accidental discharge of a weapon but were advised he
was a convicted felon and not allowed to have any weapons. Police
were given permission to check the area and discovered no weapons.
The bullet was collected as evidence and identified as possibly a 9
mm or .380.
WARRANT
On
Nov. 14 police went to 270 Dogwood Dr. and arrested Joshua E. Fink on
a Felony Warrant from West Minster Police Department, Adams County,
Col. The warrant was for sexual exploitation of a child via
telecommunication, and indecent exposure. The defendant was
transported to Darke County Jail.
STOPPED
SCHOOL BUS
On
Nov. 13 police were dispatched to 511 Markwith Ave., Greenville City
Schools bus barn, regarding a complaint from school bus driver
Jennifer Bruns. She stated she was on 217 Rhoades Ave., had stopped
the bus with stop sign out, door open and red lights flashing. A
“gold/champagne minivan, license FSJ7004” passed the bus. The
owner Matthew Stevens admitted passing the stopped bus, saying the
sun was in his eyes and the windows were slightly frosted. He will be
issued a citation.
TRESPASS
On
Nov. 6 police were dispatched to CVS Pharmacy, 1009 E. Main St.
regarding a trespassing complaint. The store manager advised a female
at the checkout counter was previously trespassed from the property.
The officer knew her as Carissima Rapier. Dispatch verified there was
a trespass for the location on Sept. 26, 2013. Rapier was escorted
outside and cited for criminal trespass.
VEHICLE
THEFT
On
Nov. 12 police were dispatched to 726 Martin St. regarding
unauthorized use of a vehicle. The victim Angela Kotey said she
allowed a named suspect to use her vehicle in March 2012 for a couple
of months. The suspect was arrested on a warrant on Memorial Day
2012. The suspect said he would get an address where the vehicle was
located and have his mother relay the information to Kotey. This did
not happen; Kotey wanted to press unauthorized use of a vehicle
charges on the suspect. Attempts to follow up on the suspect have not
been successful.
