Commissioners help BRC amend bond at
tax-exempt rate
GREENVILLE – At their June 26 meeting, Darke County Commissioners
signed a resolution allowing Brethren Retirement Community to borrow
money at a tax-exempt rate. On hand for the paperwork were Marc Kamer,
Peck, Shaffer & Williams, Amy Becker, Fifth-Third Bank, and John
Warner, CEO of Brethren Retirement Community.
Kamer told the commissioners that the paperwork was simply to allow BRC
to amend its Adjustable Rate Demand Health Care Revenue Bonds at a
reduced rate. He added that there was no change in the amount and there
would be no liability to the county.
On June 24, the commissioners signed the legislation that would allow
Brumbaugh Construction, Inc. to begin work on the Village of Pitsburg’s
Community Center Restroom Renovation project. Funds came from the
Community Development Block Grant and Brumbaugh won the bid at $20,540.
Commissioners also approved a letter to 11 Grandview Estates Owners in
the Village of Bradford regarding a Sanitary Sewer Study involving
their properties. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. July 11 in the
Bradford City Building.
Commissioners issued two proclamations at its June 24 meeting. The
first was to Beverly Marker, whom they proclaimed as the “Tribute to
Women” Representative as a member of the Darke County Republican
Women’s Club. The second was for retiring employee of the Darke County
Sheriff’s Department, Dale Allen Ary. June 20 was proclaimed “Dale
Allen Ary” Day in recognition of his 30 years of service.
