Darke County Sheriff’s Office
Jail Roster is
back online
The
Darke County Sheriff’s Office jail roster
is now available online. The Darke County Jail or Inmate
roster is
available to be viewed by the public through a link on the Darke County
Sheriff’s Office website, www.darkecountysheriff.org.
There is a link on the left
side of the page titled “Jail Roster”, by clicking on this link you
will be
taken to a list of Darke County Jail inmates currently being
held. Users
can click on any inmate to view more detailed information such as
charges,
photos and descriptions of inmates. The roster is updated
approximately
every 30 minutes and will only list those who are currently
incarcerated.
The Darke County Jail roster is hosted by the Montgomery County
Criminal
Justice Information System also known as JusticeWeb.
In
March of 2012 the Darke County Sheriff’s
Office changed software vendors and began using new software for the
management
of our jail records. At the time the new software was not
compatible with
the system that is used to host our jail roster. As a result
of this
software incompatibility the Jail Roster link was no longer available
online to
the public. A company had to be hired to develop an interface
for the
information to be viewed on our public website. The cost to
develop the
interface was too substantial for the Darke County Sheriff’s Office
budget to
support. A grant was obtained through the assistance of
Montgomery County
who hosts the site to make the interface possible. After a
number of
challenges the roster has returned for the public to view.
