Greenville Police Beat…
Five
transported to Darke County Jail on outstanding warrants
Derek Armstrong, Dayton, was arrested June 3 by Dayton Police on a
warrant out of Greenville for DUI and Drug Abuse with a bond of $3,000.
Greenville police picked Armstrong up and transported her to the Darke
County Jail without incident.
Greenville police, on learning of an arrest warrant on Elizabeth
Whitley, 208 Washington Ave., went to that address and spoke to Jordan
Tedore. Tedore stated she was at 216 Anderson Ave. The officers went to
that address and was told she was at 208 Washington Ave. The officers
returned to Washington Ave. Tedore said she wasn’t there and gave the
officers permission to go inside and look around. Whitley was
discovered in the basement. Whitley was arrested on the warrant and
transported to Mercer County Jail. Tedore was cited for obstructing
justice.
On May 28 Erica Hall, 122 W. Main St., was arrested on two warrants,
one out of Greenville for theft and one out of the Darke County
Sheriff’s Office for failing to appear on a felony drug offense. She
had gone to the Greenville Police Station to turn herself in but
changed her mind and left the parking lot. She was found on Elm Street
and eventually admitted to being Erica Hall and was placed under
arrest. The arresting officer searched her purse and found three blue
oval shaped pills with the inscription GG258. The officer then found
that the pills were Alprazolam tablets, a schedule IV drug. The
defendant has a prior drug offense conviction in March 2013, make a
potential drug abuse charge a felony.
Kaye Lynn Trittschuh, 518 Southbrooke Dr., was arrested on May 27 on a
bench warrant out of Darke County Municipal Court. The warrant was for
failure to appear on a Compliance Hearing, original charge of
Falsification. The individual denied being Trittschuh, saying instead
her name was Ashley Wynn, but eventually admitted to her identity. She
was transported to Darke County Jail over the warrant and cited for
Obstructing Official Business.
On May 26 Zack Downam, 328 Sweitzer St., was arrested on a bench
warrant for failure to comply with court ordered community service. He
was transported to Darke County Jail.
Assault
An assault charge will be filed on a juvenile against another juvenile
for an incident that took place at Greenville Park on May 23. The
victim’s father spoke to police in the emergency room of Wayne
Hospital. The hospital reported a broken nose and chipped upper and
lower front teeth; police took photos of the injuries. The juvenile
pointed out his assailant on facebook. The assailant told police that
the victim had been saying things about his deceased brother and
refused to “take it back” so he “punched him.” The victim’s parents
requested charges be filed on May 27.
Domestic Violence
On May 27 Gary E. Bowers, 770 Martin St., turned himself into
Greenville Police indicating he was feeling suicidal and had caused
injury to himself with a knife. He also admitted to throwing a knife at
his brother Brandon and swinging at his mother, Starla Jean. Bowers was
treated for his wounds and taken to Wayne Hospital for further
treatment. Neither Brandon nor Starla Jean was injured. Bowers later
told hospital staff he was no longer feeling suicidal. Wayne Emergency
Room employees advised they were releasing Bowers, adding he would not
be sent Upper Valley Medical Center for evaluation. He was arrested for
two counts of domestic violence and transported to the Darke County
Jail.
Theft, Burglary
On May 24 Brooke L. Reier, 1116 Front St., reported that her Insignia
GPS, $100, and Apple I-pod Touch, $200, were stolen from her vehicle.
An unknown tool was used to cut through the cloth roof of the vehicle
to unlock the door, estimated damage $200. No suspects at this time.
