Drug
bust nets arrest, possible
citations
GREENVILLE
– A drug bust was
executed on June 4 through a search warrant at 118 Montgomery St.
Donald Lee
Garrett was arrested and taken to the Darke County Jail.
Numerous
drug materials were found
in the house. A third person, Courtney Weatherspoon, was provided a
copy of the
search warrant and advised the she could be facing charges as well.
Both she
and the owner, Larry Fourman, would be receiving a Notice to Abate a
Nuisance.
THEFT
Charles
Jones, 701 N. Broadway,
reported on June 5 that a wooden Indian statue was taken off of his
front
porch. There were no suspects.
On
June 5, Darlene Delk, 217 Laurel
Dr., reported theft of jewelry from her unlocked car. There was no
damage to
the vehicle.
NOISE
COMPLAINT
On
June 2, Tina M. Patterson, 307
Riffle Ave., made a noise complaint on Lanny Joe Spahr, 320 12th St.
The
defendant said he was sorry for having the music too loud but also said
he
played loud music purposely to upset Patterson. Greenville dispatch
advised
Spahr had already been contacted twice about the noise. Spahr was cited
for the
loud music.
BURGLARY
On
June 3, Marcie Manning, 430 E.
Fifth St., reported that while she had been away earlier in the day, an
RCA
older tube box style television, $400 in $20 bills, three cartons of
cigarette
tubes and two boxes of tobacco had been taken. There was no forced
entry and
neighbors had not noticed any suspicious activity.
On
June 7, Marie Edwards, 1335 N.
Chippewa, reported her television and its remote were missing. Entry
was
through the back patio door, which had been damaged while being forced
open. A
canvas of the area resulted in no one noticing any unusual activity.
SEX
OFFENDER
A
known sex offender, Christopher
Briner, has registered his address as 316 Tecumseh St., which is in
violation
of City Ordinance 11-10, which went into effect March 10, 2011. Briner
was
convicted on April 22 this year of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor. The
residence is owned by Eugene Garber, Pitsburg, and is located within
1,500 feet
of Emette B. Smith Park, 850 E. 4th St.
CIVIL
PROTECTION ORDER
Jeremy
Martinez was arrested on
June 6 for violation of a civil protection order and transported to
Darke
County Jail. The CPO was awarded to ex-girlfriend Tracy Miniard. When
the
police arrived it appeared that Martinez was chasing after the vehicle
that had
Miniard inside. Martinez said he saw her at their residence and wanted
to talk
to her. When he arrived he kicked the door until the door frame broke.
He said
that he had not seen the civil protection order, however when officers
searched
it was in his pocket. The police were unable to cite Martinez for
criminal
trespassing or damaging as he hadn’t yet been evicted.
