Darke County Sheriff’s Office
Countywide outdoor weather warning sirens tested
At noon on Monday, June 03, 2013, the Darke County Emergency Communications Center, located at the Sheriff’s Office, conducted the first countywide test of the outdoor weather warning sirens. Authorities in Ansonia, Arcanum, Bradford, Burkettsville, New Madison, North Star, Rossburg, Union City Ohio, Versailles and Wayne Lakes reported that their sirens were working correctly.
The test on the siren at Gettysburg was not successful due to a programming error, but steps will be taken to correct the issue. Authorities in Gettysburg, as well as the other villages, will still be able to activate their own sirens should the need arise.
The Darke County Emergency Communications Center will continue to conduct testing of the outdoor weather warning sirens on the first Monday of each month.
Authority Darke County Sheriff Toby L. Spencer
