CNO adds new leadership
County News
Online welcomes Olson, Wombolt to team
County News Online is pleased to announce that Amanda Rodeheffer-Olson
has been promoted to Editor and Jaime Wombolt has been named Director
of Marketing for County News Online.
“With the announcement this weekend that I have joined the Early Bird
team, it was obvious that some changes needed to be made,” said Bob
Robinson, who has now assumed the Managing Editor role for CNO.
“Early Bird publisher Fred Foutz has generously allowed me to continue
my involvement with CNO, but knowing the demands that go along with
fulfilling the duties of the newspaper’s Associate Editor, plus the
editorial and marketing requirements of County News Online,” he added,
“I knew the next phase of CNO’s growth needed to be brought into place.”
The daily online news and information service has to have talented
individuals to fill CNO’s needs. Olson and Wombolt have been chosen to
take CNO to the next level.
Olson was a paginator and Sports Writer for Robinson during his tenure
as editor of the Daily Advocate. The Ansonia resident currently writes
a weekly column for County News Online and has been a CNO paginator
since August. She has the talent and experience for a position that
requires graphics and web editing skills, as well as writing and
editing abilities.
Wombolt is a recent graduate of Edison Community College with an
Associates Degree in Marketing and Design. A long-time follower of
County News Online, the Greenville resident has over six years
experience in the marketing and sales fields. She will be developing a
long-term marketing plan for the daily news and information service.
“Both of these young people are talented communicators,” Robinson said.
“They bring enthusiasm and a fresh approach to an information medium
that has attracted thousands of readers in a little over two years
online.”
County News Online had more than 187,000 page views in April and
consistently attracts 30,000 to 35,000 readers every month. Through the
generous support of 33 local sponsors (and climbing), CNO has donated
nearly $17,000 to the Senior Scribes Scholarship Fund to help Darke
County young people achieve their college goals.
“County News Online’s sole purpose is to provide a source of news and
information not always available elsewhere and to serve as a
fundraising arm of the Senior Scribes Scholarship Fund,” Robinson said.
“Our team members, volunteers and sponsors offer their time and
resources to help achieve this goal. I thank them for it and plan to
continue this service into the foreseeable future.”
