Injury Accident on 571
On
November 8, 2013 at
10:46 P.M. Darke County Deputies, along with Greenville Twp. Fire,
Greenville Rescue, and Careflight were dispatched to State Route 571
near Wagner Road in Darke County on an accident with injury. The
caller reported that the vehicle had rolled onto its side and the
occupant was trapped in the wreckage.
Preliminary
investigation
revealed that the eastbound 2006 Pontiac Torrent minivan, driven by
David L. Harrison, 45, of Greenville, failed to negotiate the curve
and drove off the right side of the roadway. The minivan struck
several traffic signs, a guardrail, and a tree. The minivan
came to a rest on it's passenger side. There was also minor
damage to a residence when it was struck by a traffic sign post.
Harrison,
who was the lone
occupant, had to be freed by mechanical means and was transported
from the scene by Careflight. Harrison was listed in stable
condition at Miami Valley Hospital.
The
accident remains under
investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
